The Academy

Hello and welcome to HighLight Singing Academy. I am Iskra Milkova-Angelova, the founder of this home for inspired singers and musicians.

I have been involved in music since early childhood, and my entire life is connected to it. I completed high school with a focus on piano, but the voice and my passion for singing and its ability to move and touch people’s hearts proved to be my greater passion.

It was this passion that led me to the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov,” where I studied pop and jazz singing, and later to the Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA) in California, USA, where I immersed myself in various vocal techniques, stage performance, teaching methods, and communication. Later, I also completed Modern Vocal Training in Spain.

Inspired by the knowledge, modern approaches, and the delicate spirit of communication that we were trained in to interact with students, I founded HighLight Singing Academy in 2013.

I invited exceptional colleagues with whom I shared everything I had learned, and together we devoted ourselves to our passion for voice, singing, and teaching.

We began teaching and sharing our knowledge. I wanted to give away everything I had learned over the years, the knowledge and skills acquired from all the teachers I had encountered – from my mother, who was my first vocal coach, to the educators at the music academy, the vocal coaches at IVA, MVT, and from my active practice as a singer in a band throughout all these years.

In 2014, I was invited to be a vocal coach on “The X Factor Bulgaria,” where for four consecutive seasons, I had the pleasure of working with exceptional individuals and seeing the music business from a different perspective.

It was precisely this experience that gave me a clear vision of the necessary qualities that young singers must develop to be prepared for the music industry and compete with international performers.

Our entire team is united around the mission of developing our talented students as multi-dimensional artist-performers with love and a spirit of collaboration. At HighLight Singing Academy, we offer not only the highest level of singing lessons but also classes in dance, performance, music theory, harmony, guitar, piano, and individual workshops for confidence, songwriting, emotional intelligence, diction, public speaking, vocal health, and more.

In addition to being a place for musical education, HighLight Singing Academy is also a family – a community of people who share their love for singing in a spirit of collaboration and friendship.

The Academy

HighLight Singing Academy is my personal project, my way to share everything I have learnt during the years with the younger singers. I want them to know how to appreciate their voices and how to control them. I want them to be able to show and develop their whole singing potential and to extract all the best from their artistic talent. I want them to be real stars – behind the microphone and on the stage.

Of course, I don’t do all of this alone. I am together with my mother, my sister and 12 more vocal coaches who are not only perfect professionals in love with their job, but also kind-hearted and very talented people. All of us consider ourselves as one big family in which we happily accept our students from all ages, too.
